Carmistin Village, our project takes shape in Uganda

As part of a partnership we initiated last year for Camp Equator in Uganda, the Carmistin Foundation will also continue to contribute to the development of education in the area by building, together with Alux, an educational campus, which will include a primary school, a trade school (Carmistin Skilling Center) and a sports base, a guest house for volunteer teachers and a farm dedicated to the campus.

The educational complex will be located in Nabusanke, Mpigi district. The objective of the Carmistin Village project is to help ensure access to education in disadvantaged areas of Uganda.

We recall that, with the support of Carmistin, last summer, a group of 16 young Romanians, consisting of doctors and nurses, teachers and psychologists, but also builders, were present in the area for the Equator camp, initiated by a group of friends, in partnership with the Association Hearts without Borders, NGO A Future for Orphans Uganda and alux.com, With the aim of getting involved in education, health and construction projects, the camp activities took place in the towns of Busega, Iganga, Kayabwe and Kisoro.

The Carmistin Foundation also sponsored the purchase of two dental chairs, which helped the volunteers to treat more than 120 patients. Volunteer doctors and nurses saw more than 1,200 patients with various ailments during the camp.Volunteers also built solar ponds and wells for irrigation, installed solar pumps and panels, distributed medicines and food to the most vulnerable and organized educational meetings.
