Support education and help reduce school drop-out - a new campaign launched by the Carmistin Foundation

Carmistin Foundation launches new social responsibility campaign - We support education and help reduce early school leaving, which provides basic necessities, especially food and clothing, for rural children from families with very limited material means who do not receive social assistance.

Andra Paraschiv, President of the Carmistin Foundation: With this new project, we aim to continue the more applied support that we have undertaken for the most vulnerable members of the community. This time, we are trying to reach as many children in need of basic necessities as possible, so that they don't have to drop out of school because of hardship and deprivation at home. In the long term, our aim is to develop as comprehensive a database as possible at national level and to be able to contribute, through this one-off campaign, to reducing the school drop-out rate, which is so worrying for a society.

The first action within this new campaign in the Foundation's annual calendar was initiated in Leleasca commune, where the Carmistin Group operates the largest organic laying hen farm in Romania. The Foundation's team, together with the farm's employees, provided food packages to children left in the care of their grandparents. The Carmistin Foundation also provided the family with firewood for the winter, as well as 30 laying hens from the farm, which will provide the necessary eggs for two to four years.

The support actions will be ongoing so that children can continue their education and not drop out of school because of poverty.

The Carmistin Foundation will gradually extend the campaign to other communities where the Carmistin Group operates. The initiative focuses on cases of extreme poverty, but also targets the situations of children with outstanding learning achievements who need some form of support to continue their education and fulfill their academic potential.

According to official reports, a quarter of children and young people in Romania (700,000 children and young people aged 3 to 23) do not attend any form of education, and in rural areas 1 in 3 children drop out of school.

This is the fourth social impact campaign launched by the Carmistin Foundation, after School Meals Day, which consists in distributing hot food parcels from the portfolio of products in rural schools The Provincebrand of Carmistin The Food Company. Another Carmistin Foundation campaign is We donate food to the community, materialized by distributing food packages from its own portfolio to hospitals and social centers. Through the campaign Celebrating Children's Day, Carmistin Foundation organizes parties for rural children in the areas where the Carmistin Group is present.

The Carmistin team has been involved, in recent years, through different entities of the Group, in over 600 social, educational, humanitarian and volunteer support actions, both in the country and abroad.
