Support for Camp Equator in Uganda

The Foundation's involvement in projects to support people in need, including remote ones, continued this summer. From August 10th to August 23rd, a group of 16 Romanian youths, made up of doctors and nurses, teachers and psychologists, as well as builders, were present in Uganda for the Equator Camp. This was initiated by a group from Romania, in partnership with the Hearts without Borders Association, the NGO A Future for Orphans Uganda and alux.com.

Carmistin Foundation has provided two dental chairs, which help in the action of the volunteers, who have treated, in the first phase of the projects, more than 120 patients of the 1,200 consulted by doctors and nurses.

Volunteers have also built solar gardens and irrigation wells, installed pumps and solar panels, distributed meds and food for those in need, and organised educational workshops for children.

In Uganda, as part of the same partnership, Carmistin Foundation will contribute to the construction of an educational campus, which will include a primary school, a vocational school, a campus farm, a sports base and a guest house for volunteering teachers and educators.
